School Concepts, Abu Dhabi Education Council, UAE

Among selected International Architects from USA, UK and other countries, Baker Kavanagh Architects were invited to submit design concepts to the Abu Dhabi Education Council, for the development of state of the art school designs. Typical schools ranged from Kindergarten Level to 12 Grade. BKA proposed a flexible and adaptable design strategy suitable for all of the school types. A series of building components that can readily accomodate a range of configurations, settings and student numbers. The design concept was seen to be innovative, sustainable and readily buildable and combined traditional Arabic references with a contemporary aesthetic.
